This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 16, 2009:

The man that I love is the counterpart that could do it, the "opposite" to me that could "balance" out that up-and-down of that see-saw called daily life ...

Alice, that’s a recipe for pain. Putting that responsibility on someone else can’t be healthy. Would you want someone to do that to you? It’s a romantic thought, but its also the seed of most break-ups. Its a delusion to put your sense of integration, of equilibrium, in the power of someone else, to make THEM responsible for it.

Allowing another person to impact you in a way that you become whole within yourself would be a healthier way to combine the pleasures and challenges of relationship with self-empowerment and the growth toward wholeness. The more responsibility we take for our centerdness, the less we ask of others. And, the less we ask of others, the more we can benefit from who they are.

Hm, so that statement of mine seems prone to be misinterpreted? …the question was “How could your life be MORE balanced?” Matter of fact, I´ve never cared to put any such responsibility on anyone.. down to even disliking having a man open a door for me! It´s like with light and shadow, etc… you don´t know the good without the bad and I wouldn´t know half of what I´m about without a man (male as opposite to female for one) and his other ways of seeing things in life…
